DETROIT - January 17, 2001 -- Detroit-based Oliver Dewey Marcks Foundation has presented WDET-FM, Detroit Public Radio, with a grant of $100,000 that will enable the station to conduct a listener survey, upgrade its website audio streaming and develop a strategic management plan.
"We're proud to be associated with WDET in this worthwhile endeavor," said John M. Chase, Jr., president of Oliver Dewey Marcks Foundation. "The important role that WDET plays in the community will be strengthened by this grant."
In order to continue to improve services and programming, WDET is planning an extensive survey of area radio listeners that will be funded by the Oliver Dewey Marcks grant. "This generous grant means so much to the station, " said Caryn Mathes, WDET general manager. "We can now move forward on a development and strategic plan that will guide the station into the future in addition to conducting a survey of radio listeners that will help us better serve the community."
