Lentini of Grosse Pointe Farms is associate chairman of the WSU department of music and professor of composition. He wrote the selection expressly for Kanengiser. The program also includes Mozart's "Sonata in A Major," Guiliani's "Rossiniana, Op. 124," and Murcia's "Sonata in D."

Earlier that day, Kanengiser plans a classical guitar master class from 11:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the Community Arts Auditorium.

Recognized as one of America's finest classical guitarists, William Kanengiser won first prize in the Concert Artists Guild International Competition, as well as major international guitar competitions in Toronto and Paris. He developed a unique repertoire for his instrument, ranging from arrangements of Mozart, Handel and Bartok to innovative excursions into the music of Eastern Europe and the Caribbean.

He received two Solo Recitalist Fellowship Grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, and his debut recording for the GSP label won an INDIE award for best classical Recording. He produced two instructional videos, Effortless Classical Guitar and Classical Guitar Mastery.

As a founding member of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Kanengiser performs throughout the world, and most recently recorded a top-selling CD for the Sony Classical label.

Born in Orange, N. J. and now residing in Los Angeles, Kanengiser studied at the University of Southern California. He received Outstanding Graduate of the School of Music awards upon the completion of both his bachelor's and master's degrees. He is a member of the USC faculty and offers frequent master classes at universities and guitar festivals throughout the world.
