Mauser Harmony with Nature Foundation Inc. presents its First Annual International Marketing Seminar

0n Friday, Nov.12, the Mauser Harmony With Nature Foundation Inc. will present its first annual international marketing seminar, "Japan-U.S.-Canada: Focus on Marketing," at the McGregor Memorial Conference Center on the Wayne State University campus. Co-sponsored by the WSU School of Business Administration and the Japan America Society of Greater Detroit and Windsor, the daylong seminar will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The seminar is open to the general public. However, professionals and students who want to learn more about cross-cultural research and international marketing between Japan, the United States and Canada may be particularly interested in attending.

Speakers include Dr. Richard P. Bagozzi, professor of management and psychology, Rice University, and professor of behavioral science in management and marketing, University of Michigan, who will discuss "Professor Mauser's Legacy Spreads Far and Wide"; John D. Tennant, consul general of Canada at Detroit, who will talk about "Consequences and Opportunities of Canada - U.S. Free Trade"; Kohei "Ken" Matsuo, senior trade advisor to the Michigan Japan External Trade Organization, who will speak on "Doing Business in Japan"; and Tony Schifano, account manager for Canada, Global Business Development Division, Michigan Economic Development Corp., who will discuss "International Marketing of Michigan."

The seminar fee is $50, but students may attend for $25. The fee includes continental breakfast, lunch and parking. Limited seating is available; advance registration by Nov. 1.

Rose M. Cook and William T. Cook established the Mauser Harmony With Nature Foundation in 1998, in memory of Ferdinand F. Mauser. Professor of Marketing Emeritus at Wayne State and Visiting Professor of Marketing at Keio University in Toyko, Japan, Mauser was known around the world for his expertise in international marketing. He was the author of numerous publications, including "An Introduction to American Business" and "Modern Marketing Management."
