Wayne State music alums return for Oct. 22 concert

Music alumni Steven and Abha Dearing, known professionally as The Dearing Concert Duo, return to perform at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, in room 101 of the Schaver Music Building at Wayne State University.

The program will include John Dowland's "Three Renaissance Works," WSU music Professor James Lentini's "Fantasy for Flute and Guitar," and Niccolo Pagnini's, "Sonata."

Other selections will be Astor Piazzola's "Three Tangos from the History of Tango," and "Suite Populaire Espagnole," composer unknown.

The performers were known as Duo Concertante in 1996-1998; the name change came after becoming partners in marriage. They met at Wayne State.
