Wayne State's Law School and the National Labor Relations Board (NRLB) will host the seventh annual Bernard Gottfried Memorial Labor Law Symposium Thursday, Oct. 21, in the McGregor Memorial Conference Center on campus.
Co-sponsored by the State Bar of Michigan's Labor and Employment Law Section, the symposium will feature nine labor specialists - management and labor practitioners - as well as NLRB staff members and academics.
Topics will include:
Arbitration of employment disputes - managing the inevitable revolution;
Litigation issues - privileged communication, bargaining strategy and witness statements; Changing employment relationship - temporary employment agencies, leased employees, independent contractors, who is the employer?; and Recent developments at the NLRB.
The day begins with registration and a continental breakfast at 8:15 a.m., includes a lunch and concludes by 2 p.m. The registration fee is $100.
Continuing Legal Education credits for Ohio and Indiana are available for this event.
