Johnnie Cochran Jr. will share accounts and insights from his journey through the American legal system at a free lecture at noon, April 9, in the Student Center ballroom at Wayne State University, 5221 Gullen Mall.
His lecture, "Justice in America," is sponsored by the Student Alumni Association. The event is free but admission is by ticket only. Tickets for Wayne State University students are available now in room 351 of the Student Center Building. Free tickets for the general public will be available beginning April 2. For more information, call (313) 577-2300.
Cochran has been making history since the beginning of his career in law. He is the only lawyer in the history of Los Angeles to be named both civil and criminal Trial Lawyer of the Year. In 1992 he was named one of the 10 most successful litigators in the country by the National Law Journal and in December 1995 the same journal named him Lawyer of the Year.
Cochran is now host of Court TV's "Cochran and Company" and author of the best-selling book Journey to Justice
