Meredith Gibbs, Wayne State University's new chief of staff, will speak at the first "Getting to Know You" luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, in Hilberry A and B in the Student Center Building.
President Irvin D. Reid's initiative to create a sense of community at the university is the impetus for the President's Commission on the Status of Women (COSW) to sponsor the brown bag luncheons.
The luncheons offer opportunities to meet and network with colleagues and learn about their backgrounds and challenges.
Opening speaker Gibbs will share some of the experiences in her impressive career. Maria Ferreira, assistant professor of education, will speak at the March 10 luncheon.
For more information call Linda Seatts of the COSW Affirmative Action and Equity Committee at (313) 577-1039.
