Swearing-in ceremonies for John Kelly, newest member of the Wayne State University Board of Governors, and Elizabeth Hardy, incumbent member of the board, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, in WSU's McGregor Memorial Conference Center.
Kelly, a former Michigan state senator, and Hardy, a partner in the Troy law firm of Kienbaum, Opperwall, Hardy and Pelton, were elected to eight-year terms on the board in the November general election. Hardy will begin her second term on the eight-member governing body. Kelly, an assistant professor of political science at Oakland University, is new to the board.
Hardy will receive the oath of office from Michigan Supreme Court Justice Maura Corrigan. Michigan Supreme Court Justice Michael Cavanagh will swear in Kelly. A reception will follow the ceremonies.
The public is invited. For reservations and information call the WSU Board of Governors Office at (313) 577-2034.
