Home buyer and seller financial workshop planned for Nov. 18

A Home Buyer and Seller Financial Workshop will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Wayne State University Oakland Center in Farmington Hills. The event is sponsored by the WSU Alumni Association Recent Alumni Committee and is free to WSU Alumni Association members and $5 a person for non-members.

The workshop will cover the following topics:

* How to be in a position of power when working with Realtors;

* How to maximize returns on investment real estate;

* How to evaluate and understand financing options;

* How to evaluate a home inspection; and

* How to avoid the pitfalls of the real estate process.

The seminar is not a sales presentation. It is an educational workshop designed to teach the principles of the real estate business.

John McArdle, president of the Western Wayne Oakland County Association of Realtors, certified residential specialist and owner of Remerica Hometown One, will be the featured speaker.

Other speakers include Rick Bowling, president of AmeriSpec Home Inspection Service and member of the American Society of Home Inspectors; and Chuck Craycraft, vice president of Republic Bankcorp Mortgage and member of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America.
