The sixth annual Gottfried Memorial Labor Law Symposium will be Thursday, Oct. 22, in the McGregor Memorial Conference Center at Wayne State University.
Registration and a continental breakfast will begin at 8:15 a.m. The program is expected to conclude by 2 p.m. and includes lunch.
The symposium will feature nine labor specialists - management and labor practitioners - as well as National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) staff members and academics.
Topics will include:
* Labor Relations and Arbitration Advocacy;
* Withdrawal of Recognition: Issues Before the NLRB After the Supreme Court's Decision in Allentown Mack Sales;
* Employment Terms and Conditions of Strike-Replacement Employees: Questions Raised by Service Electric Co.;
* Detroit Newspaper Litigation; and
* Recent Developments at the NLRB.
