The Academy of Scholars will offer a symposium, "20th Century Retrospective and 21stCentury Prospective on Various Disciplines," from 2-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in 1107 Old Main at Wayne State University.
The event, one of Wayne State's inaugural week celebrations honoring President Irvin D. Reid, will feature six academy members from different disciplines.
James Hartway of the music department and president of the academy will co-moderate the symposium with Ronald Aronson of interdisciplinary studies. Both will make presentations as well.
Other presenters include Mark Evans, obstetrics and gynecology; William Hase, chemistry; John Reed, English; and Melvin Small, history.
