MFA art exhibition opens Feb. 13 at Wayne State

A "Master of Fine Arts Thesis" exhibition will run Feb. 13-March 6, in the Community Arts Gallery at Wayne State University. The opening reception will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13.

The exhibition is the first of a two-part series that features the work of artists created while completing their Master of Fine Art degrees. Participating artists include Suzanne Andersen of Grosse Pointe, Anne Fracassa of Detroit, Joe Gohl of Dearborn, Anne Harrington-Hughes of Hamtramck, Todd Mitchell of St. Clair Shores and Teresa Petersen of Ypsilanti.

The artists have studied sculpture, painting, drawing, mixed media and over the last few years have been showing their work in regional and national galleries. The juxtaposition of art in this exhibition reflects the diversity of the artists.

Hours for the gallery are 10:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.
