WSU, DSO host workshop for conductors Jan. 28-31

An American Symphony Orchestra League (ASOL) workshop for conductors will attract more than 40 participants from across the nation Jan. 28-31 to Wayne State University's Schaver Music Building. Wayne State will co-host the event with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

Workshop programs encourage artistic growth, professional development and networking with peers. More than 800 orchestral conductors have benefited since1985.

Outstanding teachers and practitioners such as Gunther Herbig, Riccardo Muti, Leonard Slatkin, Andre Previn and Zubin Mehta have served as faculty members for the workshops.

The ASOL serves symphony, chamber, youth and collegiate orchestras of all sizes. It provides leadership and service that enhance the artistic and financial strength of American orchestras.
