Intellectual property law practitioners and judges will assemble in Detroit from October 6 through October 9, 1997 as Wayne State University Law School in conjunction with the Great Lakes Patent and Trademark Center of the Detroit Public Library presents "Patent and Trademark Law Week in Detroit."
On Monday, October 6, at the McGregor Memorial Conference Center on the Wayne State University campus, the Law School will present a seminar featuring Larry Goffney, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce and Deputy Patent Commissioner; Hon. David Sams, Chief Judge of the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board; Hon. Bruce Stoner, Chief Judge of the U.S. Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences; and Manuel Antonakis, Director of Patent Policy Dissemination. Topics include updates on intellectual property law and practice before the various agencies. Advance registration is required. On Tuesday, October 7 -Thursday, October 9, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit will hold oral arguments at various times at both the Theodore Levin United States Courthouse in Detroit and the Wayne State University Community Arts Auditorium. On Tuesday, October 7, the U.S. Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences will hear oral arguments at the Detroit Public Library Explorers Room. On Wednesday, October 8, the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board likewise will hear oral arguments at the Detroit Public Library Explorers Room.
