Post-master's certificate in social work practice is available from Wayne State's Oakland Center

A certificate in social work practice with families and couples will be offered at the Wayne State University Oakland Center in Farmington Hills beginning fall term 1997.

The post-master's program focuses on several areas including family and marital therapy, sexuality, diverse family structures, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic issues and ethical concerns in marital and family therapy. The required courses in this certificate program will prepare students to meet the academic requirements for a license in marriage and family therapy.

An informational meeting for interested students is slated for 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21 at the center, 33737 W. 12 Mile Road, Farmington Hills.

Fall term mail-in registration is under way until July 3 and off-campus final registration is Aug. 11-28. Applications are available from the School of Social Work by calling (313) 577-4409.
