WSU, DMC set African-American health symposium Saturday, June 7

"It Takes a Village to Raise a Child," the second annual primary care symposium on African-American health, will be held Saturday, June 7, at the Detroit Westin Hotel.

The Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center medical Office of Special Programs sponsors the event. Its goals are to inform health care providers and the community about social, economic and health issues affecting the African-American community; and to gather health care providers and community members to exchange ideas and information.

The program starts at 7:30 a.m. Practicing physicians who attend can receive eight continuing medical education credits. Registration is $150 for physicians, $35 for health care professionals and others.
