Arthur "Bud" Liebler, vice president of communication for Chrysler Corp., will deliver the keynote address during the sixth annual Communication Week at Wayne State University April 14-18.
Liebler will speak at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, in WSU's McGregor Memorial Conference Center. His topic will be "Communication and Technology: Art, Science and Marketing the Chrysler Difference."
The week of communication-related programs -- from speakers to panel discussions -- is sponsored by WSU's department of communication.
Liebler, who began his career as a radio reporter in Wisconsin, has overall responsibility for Chrysler's communication programs, including media relations, internal communication, investor relations, special events and research.
He joined Chrysler in 1980 as director of merchandising and has held several executive positions at the automaker. Before that he was with Ross Roy Communications and Ford Motor Company. He is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America.
"The communications area has absolutely exploded since I got into the business," the Chrysler executive says. "Working in communications positions at Chrysler, and in the auto industry, has given me a great opportunity to participate in that growth and to see the impact it's had on business and on society as a whole."
Liebler's speech and most other Communication Week activities are free and open to the public. A schedule of events accompanies this release. For more information call the communication department at (313) 577-2943.
