Keisha Blevins, J.D., has been appointed to the position of chief of staff in the Dean’s Office.
Dean Wael Sakr, M.D., announced the appointment, effective Dec. 4.
“Keisha brings a wealth of administrative and leadership experience to the office,” Dean Sakr said.
Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Blevins served or than 17 years at the University of Michigan, most recently as chief of staff and senior advisor to the chancellor at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where she worked with faculty, staff, students and external audiences to help achieve university priorities and initiatives.
She also served as chief Diversity and Inclusion officer for the campus, and as facilitator for strategic planning and projects.
Blevins served in a variety of human resources roles at the Ann Arbor campus, including as a human resources consultant in Staff Human Resources and Michigan Medicine Human Resources. She was associate director of Academic Human Resources, where her responsibilities included administration of the Graduate Employees Organization contract, and providing advice and counsel on academic personnel matters.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational studies from the University of Michigan and a juris doctorate degree from the Wayne State University Law School. She holds certifications in human resources; mitigating unconscious bias; diversity, equity and inclusion; mediation; positive leadership and executive coaching.
Blevins is chair of the Board of Directors at the Student Advocacy Center and is a member of the Ann Arbor Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and the Ann Arbor Chapter of the Links Inc.
