Comprehensive COVID-19 research guide now available

A comprehensive research guide on Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is now available online through the Wayne State University Library System at https://guides.lib.wayne.edu/COVID-19

The guide presents research information on the topic of COVID-19 from scientific publications such as The Lancet and The New England Journal of Medicine; general information from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state and local health departments; an interactive web-based dashboard that tracks COVID cases in real time, created by Center for Systems Science and Engineering at John Hopkins University; and more.

The guide was created by the WSU Shiffman Medical Library’s Ella Hu, a biomedical sciences reference and research informationist, and collection development coordinator.

The outbreak of COVID-19 was first detected in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. The disease has since been identified in 50 countries and regions, including the United States. The virus has been named “SARS-CoV-2” and the disease it causes has been named “coronavirus disease 2019” (abbreviated “COVID-19”).
