Kathryn Cramer Visiting Lecture Series set for April 9

The Wayne State University School of Medicine’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery and the Detroit Medical Center will present the 10th annual Kathryn Cramer Visiting Lecture Series on April 9.

The series will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 11:25 p.m. in the auditorium in Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

This year’s presenters are Kelly LeFaivre, M.D., associate professor of Orthopaedics at the University of British Columbia, and Anokha Padubidri, M.D., an orthopaedic surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic.

The day’s agenda includes:

7:30 to 8 a.m.: breakfast

8 to 8:05 a.m.: Introduction by Rahul Vaidya, M.D., professor and chair of the WSU Department of Orthopaedic Surgery
 
8:05 to 8:20 a.m.: Dedication by the Cramer Family

8:20 to 9:05 a.m.: “Distal Femur Fractures—Learning from the Past and Looking to the Future,” Dr. LeFaivre

9:05 to 9:35 a.m.: “Periprosthetic Fractures Around the Knees,” Dr. Padubidri

9:35 to 9:50 a.m.: Break

9:50 to 10:20 a.m.: “Nail-Plate Combination for Distal Femur Factures,” Dr. Padubidri

10:20 to 11:05 a.m.: “Measuring Outcomes in Orthopaedic Trauma—The What, When and How  of Understanding the Evidence,” Dr. LeFaivre

11:05 to 11:20 a.m.: Questions and discussions

11:20 to 11:25 a.m.: Conclusion, Dr. Vaidya

If you plan to request CME credit for this event, sign into the Zoom meeting with your first and last name. WSU CME has instituted a new online system for physician faculty to claim CME credit. Following the conference, email Simone Hickson at shickson@dmc.org and your attendance will be verified and you will be sent instructions to claim your CME. You will have seven days following the conference to claim your CME credit.
