The cover image, poster and oral presentation winners of the Wayne State University School of Medicine’s 12th annual Vision Research Workshop have been announced.
The workshop, held Oct. 23 at the Detroit Athletic Club, was presented by the Department of Ophthalmology, Visual and Anatomical Sciences, and the Kresge Eye Institute.

Mark Juzych, M.D., MHSA, chair of the Department of Ophthalmology, Visual and Anatomical Sciences, and director of the Kresge Eye Institute, gave welcome remarks. Linda Hazlett, Ph.D., vice dean of Research and Graduate Programs and vice chair of the department, provided an overview of research at the School of Medicine and the university.
The keynote speaker giving the annual Robert N. Frank, M.D., Clinical Translational Lecture was Michael Chang, M.D., director of the National Eye Institute, National Institutes of Health, who presented, “AI, Data Science, Ophthalmology and the National Eye Institute.”
