Derek Grayson, M.D., D.C., has joined the Department of Neurology at the Wayne State University School of Medicine as an assistant professor.
Dr. Grayson joined the department June 17.
He is a neurointerventional pain management specialist, with a particular focus on treating acute to chronic pain conditions such as neck and back pain, as well as headaches. He utilizes advanced interventional pain procedures and an interdisciplinary approach to pain management to promote a lifestyle of well-being and freedom from pain. Dr. Grayson is skilled in various types of interventions, including joint injections, epidurals, nerve ablations, minimally invasive spinal procedures and neuromodulation (spinal cord/peripheral nerve stimulation).
He received a bachelor’s of science degree in 1996 from the University of Windsor (Canada), a bachelor’s of science degree in Human Biology from the National College of Chiropractic in 1998, a doctor of chiropractic degree from the National College of Chiropractic in 2000 and his medical degree from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine (Grand Cayman, British West Indies) in 2019. He completed a Neurology residency, Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship and a Pain Medicine Fellowship, all at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center.
Dr. Grayson is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience, the North American Neuromodulation Society and the American Academy of Pain Medicine.
