Question: Why did you choose Wayne State University for medical school?
Answer: I chose Wayne State University because of the clear commitment to its students, alumni network and community. I felt there was a really strong sense of collaboration with the students as well as many opportunities to meet alumni of the school. Everyone I encountered, through student and faculty interviews as well as just by touring the school, showed a strong passion for serving the greater community of Detroit. Since being here, I have been able to work with many different student organizations to learn more about the city as well as to meet many members of the community.
Q: What is your favorite part of the Warrior M.D. community?
A: My favorite part of the Warrior M.D. community is how we regularly meet and collaborate with so many different people in our class. We have different small group sessions, so it is really fun getting to meet and work with different people as well as being exposed to different perspectives. I also think there is a really strong sense of community within the class that has made it so great to work with everyone during the preclinical years.
Q: What are the most rewarding aspects of being a Warrior M.D. Ambassador?
A: As an ambassador, it has been so rewarding being able to talk to so many different people such as alumni, prospective students, current students and more. I have learned so much from all the people I have met throughout various events such as tours, white coat ceremony, alumni reunions and more. Everyone has so many great things to say about their experience at Wayne, and it is really exciting being able to help incoming medical students make their choice of medical school in general.
