Dr. Rosenthal receives ACEP’s Disaster Medical Sciences Award

The American College of Emergency Physicians has recognized a Wayne State University School of Medicine faculty physician for his work in the field of disaster medicine.

Marc Rosenthal, Ph.D., D.O., FACEP, FAEMS, will receive the ACEP’s Disaster Medical Sciences Award, part of the college’s Leadership and Excellence Awards.

The Disaster Medical Sciences Award recognizes ACEP members who have made outstanding contributions of national/international significance or impact to the field of disaster medicine. The award features a crystalline sphere held up by two hands. Dr. Rosenthal’s name also will be inscribed on a master plaque at ACEP headquarters in Irving, Texas.

Dr. Rosenthal is the associate director of the Emergency Medical Services fellowship at Wayne State. An assistant professor of Emergency Medicine, his interests include nuclear physics, emergency medical services, disaster medicine and tactical EMS.

The award will be formally presented during the college’s ACEP 23 meeting in Philadelphia in February.
