Wayne Pediatrics welcomes WSU faculty, staff, students and families

The most important step one can take to protect themselves and their families’ health is to remain up to date on vaccinations and booster shots. Wayne Pediatrics invites Wayne State University faculty, staff and students to get COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters, and to consider the practice for their children’s routine physicals and preventive health care services, like back-to-school vaccinations and COVID-19 vaccines and boosters for babies as young as 6 months.

Located less than two miles from the university’s main campus, Wayne Pediatrics is conveniently located at 400 Mack Ave., with free onsite parking. Appointments are available during office hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and walk-ins are welcome weekdays before 4 p.m. Most insurance, including Medicaid, is accepted.

“All of our physicians are WSU faculty members, and the practice is affiliated with the university’s School of Medicine,” said Christopher Youngman, M.D., chief medical officer of Wayne Pediatrics. “For nearly two years we have provided care to families, yet some of our WSU family may be unaware that we’re just a short drive away for their vaccination needs and to care for the medical needs of their children.”

Since opening its doors in September 2020, Wayne Pediatrics has provided integrated care with pediatric generalists and specialists onsite, along with psychologists, a social worker and a dietician. In addition, the practice is home to the Horizons Project, offering screening for HIV, hepatitis C and other sexually-transmitted infections, and HIV and STD screenings for young adults.
