She joins a team of medical, auxiliary and administrative staff committed to providing quality pediatric care and improving health outcomes for children and youth in metropolitan Detroit.

“I’m excited to join Wayne Pediatrics’ efforts to provide quality integrated behavioral health care for Detroit children and families,” Dr. Smith said. “I’m inspired by the resilience of our families. When they show up to find hope I look forward to joining them on their journey. My goal is to reduce the barriers to mental health care that we know many Detroit families have when needing psychological services. Our work to improve health outcomes, quality of life and instill hope for Detroit residents gives me great energy and purpose.”

Dr. Smith is a native Detroiter who received her doctorate and master’s degrees in School Psychology from Michigan State University, and a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Houston Baptist University. Her undergraduate degree in Economics was obtained from the University of Michigan.

Wayne Pediatrics provides a full range of integrated primary and subspecialty care, including preventive and behavioral health services from a diabetes educator, dietitians, psychologists and social workers. The practice also prioritizes monthly education and outreach opportunities to further engage the community.
