Meeting seeks inspiration for new Scott Hall mural

A partnership task force of faculty of the Wayne State University School of Medicine and the university’s College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts is seeking input for a new mural to be painted outside Scott Hall. The project’s goal is to integrate arts and humanities into the School of Medicine community, and to build creativity and critical thinking in the medical world

The group will conduct a meeting at 4 p.m. Oct. 25 to gather suggestions from students, faculty staff and alumni for the mural, which will be painted on the retaining wall on the north side of Scott Hall, facing Canfield.

The mural will be painted students of the Mural Class in the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts.

The painting will synthesize inspiration from voices within the community, research from the long history of medical advancement and the role the School of Medicine has served in Detroit. Students are seeking design inspiration that aligns with the School or Medicine’s mission and its partnership with the Detroit community.

The 30-minute meeting will take place via Zoom at https://wayne-edu.zoom.us/j/91761398796?pwd=THRTVmh1Rk9jcTZmc0NIMURQOXUvdz09
