Students knocking down door to get into SOM

We need your help in the selection of the next class of physician leaders at the Wayne State University School of Medicine. We are seeking alumni physicians to become part of the Admissions Interview Committee, and we'd like you to have a hand in shaping the Class of 2023, because they will be the next generation of health care leaders to follow the paths you have blazed.

We are in the enviable position of having a substantial hike in our applications due to strong interest in our medical school. However, to have the ability to interview so many more students than in previous years, we need your participation. The personal interview is integral to the application process, and we want to be able to interview as many of our applicants as have requested interviews.

The commitment options start at five sessions. Each session is four hours, including a one-hour interview prep. There are morning and afternoon sessions. Please fill out the form at go.wayne.edu/committee and we will reach out to follow up and schedule the dates and times that work best for you.

Students want to come to Wayne State University. They want to be a part of our community. They have a desire to contribute to the health and wellness of our city. As you know, School of Medicine alumni go on to be health care leaders and advocates worldwide. We believe that it is important that prospective students have the opportunity to interact with alumni, and by joining the Admissions Interview Committee, you have the opportunity to aid us in this very important part of the process.

You may receive a letter from Dean Jack D. Sobel in the coming days with more information about this request.

If you have questions about the Admissions Interview Committee, please contact Kevin Sprague, M.D., Associate Dean of Admissions and Enrollment Management, directly at dr0821@wayne.edu
