Register today: Karmanos and WSU team up Oct. 27 for 13th annual Treatment of Gastrointestinal Cancers update

The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and the Wayne State University School of Medicine will present the 13th annual State of the Art Treatment of Gastrointestinal Cancers on Oct. 27 at the Somerset Inn in Troy.

The symposium includes nationally-renowned physicians who will present the latest advances and future challenges in the field of gastrointestinal oncology. The seminar will focus on the multidisciplinary approach to gastrointestinal cancer and neuroendocrine tumors, and will include case-based interactive audience participation.

Discussion topics will include hereditary gastrointestinal malignancy syndromes, screening for high-risk GI cancers, liver metastases, adjuvant treatment of colon cancer, new progress in treating primary liver cancers, molecular therapeutics, major advances in neuroendocrine tumor treatment and immunotherapy for gastrointestinal cancers.

The cost is $125 for physicians, $50 for nurses, physician extenders, retired physicians and other allied health care providers. The conference is free for residents, fellows and students.

Online registration will be open until October 22. After that date, all registration will be on site the day of the event. Registering the day of the event will cost an additional $25.
