Robert Wahl, M.D., was elected senior member-at-large to the American Board of Emergency Medicine's Executive Committee.

Dr. Wahl, an associate professor (clinician-educator) in the Wayne State University School of Medicine's Department of Emergency Medicine, was elected a director of the ABEM in 2012.

Dr. Wahl is on staff at Detroit Receiving Hospital. He has served the ABEM as an examiner for oral certification exams since 2007. He has been a member of the Enhanced MCQ Advisory Panel since 2011.

He is a 1984 graduate of the WSU School of Medicine.

The American Board of Emergency Medicine certifies emergency physicians who meet its educational, professional standing and examination standards. Its goal is to protect the public by promoting and sustaining the integrity, quality and standards of training in and the practice of Emergency Medicine. ABEM is one of 24 medical specialty certification boards recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
