Neurology Department accepting proposals for Alzheimer's disease research funding

The Wayne State University School of Medicine and the Department of Neurology have an endowment from Albert and Goldye J. Nelson available to fund research into the detection, treatment and cure of Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. Available funds for the coming fiscal year are approximately $45,000.

The department is accepting proposals for FY 2018. Interested applicants must submit a two-page proposal to fund research in the areas described above, including a proposed budget not to exceed $45,000. Funds cannot be used to cover the principal investigator's salary. Proposals are for one year, with the option of renewal, contingent on committee approval and funding availability. Applicants must have at least a .25 FTE faculty appointment at the School of Medicine.

The deadline for submission is Nov. 30.
