Dr. Narayanan named Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology fellow

Sandra Narayanan, M.D., F.A.H.A., F.A.N.A., associate professor of the Wayne State University School of Medicine's departments of Neurosurgery and Neurology, has been appointed a fellow of the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology.

Fellowship in the society, which promotes excellence in the field of interventional treatment of neurovascular diseases by neurologists, is assessed on contributions to the field of interventional neurology in the areas of program development, scholarly activity and leadership.

Dr. Narayanan, who also serves as director of the Neuroendovascular Program for the Detroit Medical Center, was formally recognized during the society's annual business meeting Nov. 9 in Boston.

The SVIN also appointed her to a three-year at-large board term. She was selected for the leadership position by her peers.

The society was established to achieve the highest level of care for patients through increased collaboration in scientific research and by educating young professionals and training young investigators.
