Survey: Help our 150th anniversary Symposia Task Force

Next year the Wayne State University School of Medicine will celebrate its 150th year and its many contributions to the immediate community and the world.

Dean Jack D. Sobel, M.D., has established a committee to develop a broad array of events to mark this momentous occasion during a year-long celebration.

The Sesquicentennial Planning Committee has established a Symposia Task Force to plan two to three symposia in celebration of our school's 150th anniversary next year. The Task Force would like to prioritize the inclusion of School of Medicine alumni (medical and graduate students, residents, former faculty) as symposia speakers. The goal is to highlight the distinguished accomplishments of our past trainees and faculty, and in doing so further energize our alumni base.

Please complete a brief survey designed to gain input from departmental leaders and faculty in identifying alumni from your respective programs who:

• May be nationally recognized in their fields
• Have made a great impact at WSU
• Would attract a wide audience

Take the survey now.

From your suggestions, the school will cluster prospective talks into thematic areas of content. We also hope to identify noteworthy alumni and past faculty who could be featured in a publication or in other ways by our Marketing and Communications team as we celebrate our school's Sesquicentennial in 2018.
