Medical staff volunteers needed for Wayne State's Aug. 19 Baroudeur event

Organizers of Wayne State University's The Baroudeur cycling event on Aug. 19 are looking for medical students, physicians, nurses and emergency medical technicians to serve as volunteer medical staff.

Sign up to volunteer at http://baroudeur.wayne.edu/join.php

Medical students will earn Co-Curricular credit for assisting with basic first aid as needed.

All volunteers must attend a mandatory meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Aug. 10.

The Baroudeur is a fun, noncompetitive event that gives riders of all abilities an opportunity to explore Detroit and the surrounding area on two wheels while helping economically disadvantaged students pursue higher education. Cyclists can sign up for a 100-mile, 62-mile or 20-mile ride.
