The committee considers qualities such as strength of character, integrity, perseverance, leadership, compassion and devotion, as well as clinical expertise and commitment to advancing the art and science of medicine. Masters must have made a notable contribution to medicine, including teaching, outstanding work in clinical medicine (research or practice), contributions to preventive medicine, improvements in the delivery of health care and/or contributions to medical literature.
