Definitive guide to laboratory medicine includes editing, writing from School of Medicine faculty

The latest edition of the reference book "Henry's Clinical Diagnosis and Management by Laboratory Methods" features editing and writing contributions from several Wayne State University School of Medicine faculty members, including Professor of Pathology Martin Bluth, M.D., Ph.D., who served as an associate editor of the work.

The 23rd edition marks the third time in 12 years that he has served in an associate editor capacity, with each edition bringing more responsibility, including more chapters and more section editing, Dr. Bluth said.

The book, first published in 1908, is considered the definitive guide to laboratory medicine, and offers state-of-the-art guidance on the scientific foundation and clinical application of today's complete range of laboratory tests.

"This is the gold reference text for the field of Clinical Pathology nationwide, if not further," Dr. Bluth said.
