Dr. Hanks to present at World Federation of NeuroRehabilitation Conference

A Wayne State University School of Medicine professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation will present a study on interventions in patients with concussions at a conference in Scotland next week.

Robin Hanks, Ph.D., will present "A Brief Educational Intervention to Maximize Positive Outcomes after Concussion" on July 12 during the 13th Conference of the Neurorehabilitation Special Interest Group of the World Federation of NeuroRehabilitation in Glasgow.

The study is the result of a collaborative project with the WSU departments of Emergency Medicine and Psychology.

Dr. Hanks, who also serves as chief of Rehabilitation Psychology and Neuropsychology for the DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan and project director of the Southeastern Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury System, is also co-author of "Pain anxiety and engagement in rehabilitation therapy among adults with brain injury," a separate poster that will be presented at the conference.
