Peter Paximadis, M.D. - Named an Educator of the Year for 2016

Peter Paximadis, M.D., Class of 2008 and an assistant professor of Radiation Oncology for the Wayne State University School of Medicine, has been named an Educator of the Year for 2016 by the Association of Radiation Oncology Residents. The award was presented to Dr. Paximadis at the resident graduation dinner held June 10 in Troy, Mich.

Each radiation oncology residency program selects one faculty member to receive the annual award for outstanding teaching and mentorship of residents.

"We have an outstanding group of residents, and participating in their education is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. It was an incredible honor to be recognized with this award," Dr. Paximadis said.

He completed his Radiation Oncology residency with the school in 2013. The Wayne State University Physician Group attending physician is a member of the Radiation Oncology Residency Program's Resident Education Committee, the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and the American Board of Radiology.
