His colleague Lim was born and lived in Taipei, Taiwan, until age 13. His native country has one of the highest incidences of kidney-related diseases in the world, he said. "Learning more about nephrology has been in the back of my head. As I continue my education and training, I want to learn more about how I can help address this issue," he said. "It is an honor to have the opportunity to learn about nephrology from the leading experts in the field. I'm also excited to meet medical students from all around the country who share the same passion."
