Dr. Binienda receives STFM National Clerkship Curriculum Fellowship

The Society of Teachers of Family Medicine has selected Juliann Binienda, Ph.D., assistant professor of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences for the Wayne State University School of Medicine, its 2016 National Clerkship Curriculum Fellow.

Her fellowship begins in January.

Designed for experienced medical student faculty, the fellowship provides a one-year experience working with the STFM National Clerkship Curriculum and the NCC Editorial Board. Dr. Binienda will evaluate the use of existing resources for enhanced clerkship application, and will research and identify new and innovative curricula.

She also will serve as an NCC ambassador by attending conferences, presenting new information and collaborating with the NCC Editorial Board.

"My career focus is moving more toward curricular development, implementation and measurement," Dr. Binienda said. "This fellowship will allow me the protected time to devote to my own professional development in educational scholarship and research."

The STFM is an association of nearly 5,000 innovative family medicine educators. They include medical school professors, preceptors, residency program faculty, residency program directors and others involved in family medicine education.
