Ernest Yoder, M.D., Ph.D., has been named associate dean for Graduate Medical Education at the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, and will oversee the Kalamazoo, Mich., medical school?s residencies and fellowships.

Dr. Yoder is a 1978 graduate of the Wayne State University School of Medicine, where he also held several positions as a full-time faculty member following the 1981 completion of his internal medicine residency with the school.

He was a professor and founding dean of the Central Michigan University College of Medicine from 2010 to 2014. He previously served as vice president of Medical Education and Research at St. John Health in Warren, Mich., and was director of Medical Education and director of intensive care at Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit.

Dr. Yoder has a doctorate in instructional technology with a minor in educational evaluation and research from WSU. He was recognized by Best Doctors in America from 2002 to 2008 and served as chairman of the Association of American Medical Colleges Central Group on Educational Affairs.
