Lampoon 2014 tickets now on sale

The Wayne State University School of Medicine Aesculapians student honor service group will celebrate some riotous fun at the expense of medical school, the faculty and themselves in the 2014 Lampoon, which this year will raise funds for a Detroit neighborhood human service organization that assists individuals, families, groups and the community with basic life, family and social needs.

Tickets are now on sale for the annual Lampoon, which is scheduled for March 8 at Saint Andrew's Hall. Tickets can be purchased online at www.lampoon2014.com.

Lampoon consists of tongue-in-cheek skits and videos produced by members of each of the four medical classes. Each class produces about 20 minutes of material for the evening's entertainment. This year's theme is "A Night at the OSCEs."

The performance begins at 7 p.m. Doors to the hall will open at 6 p.m. VIP tickets are $45 and include seating in the VIP section, two drink tickets, parking next to Saint Andrew's Hall at no additional cost and complimentary hors d'oeuvres at the show. General admission tickets are $20.

Proceeds from this year's Lampoon will benefit Franklin-Wright Settlements, which offers programs in youth enrichment, recreation, senior outreach services, early start child care, mentoring and counseling. The organization, recognized as the first settlement program founded in Michigan (in 1881), now focuses on prevention, treatment and amelioration of social problems through advocacy, programs, projects, activities, services and facilities.

Sponsorship packages are available to support Lampoon. For more information on those packages, visit http://www.lampoon2014.com/uploads/1/5/7/5/15751592/2014_lampoon_sponsorship_package.pdf.
