Nearly 200 Wayne State University and Wayne State University Physician Group specialists are among the nation's best doctors.

StyleLine Magazine, in its February edition, has published the 2012 Best Doctors Inc. list for southeast Michigan. The Best Doctors in America list, according to the organization, includes the nation's most respected specialists and outstanding primary care physicians. Those named to the list represent the top 5 percent of U.S. physicians.

The Best Doctors Inc. list is the largest continuous independent survey of medical professionals. Those named to the list are nominated by physicians, using a peer-to-peer process doctors use to identify the right specialists for their own patients. Researchers for the corporation confirm credentials and areas of expertise.

The list contains the doctors other physicians recognize as the best in their specialties. Physicians cannot pay to be listed and cannot nominate or vote for themselves.
