Kathryn "Kitty" Sussman, M.D., died June 12, 2008. She was 68.

Dr. Sussman received her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed a three-year pediatric residency at Mount Sinai Hospital of New York. She practiced and taught pediatrics in New York. Dr. Sussman then completed a three-year residency program in dermatology at Wayne State University in Detroit and received board certification in both pediatrics and dermatology.

She was an assistant clinical instructor in dermatology at Wayne State University and practiced at the dermatology clinic of Children's Hospital in Detroit, Mich. Dr. Sussman was also on staff at Children's Hospital, St. John's Hospital-Macomb and William Beaumont Hospital of Royal Oak, Mich. In addition, Dr. Sussman had a private practice as a dermatologist for many years in Warren, Mich.

She is survived by her husband, Don Chiverton; daughter, Rachel (Matthew Hale) Sussman; son, Michael Sussman; sister, Naomi Scherr; and cousins Susan (Mark) Flynn and David (Nancy) Handwerker.
