Dr. Shade appointed Sinai-Grace vice president
George H. Shade, Jr., M.D., WSU associate professor of obstetrics & gynecology, has been appointed vice president of medical affairs at Sinai-Grace Hospital. In Dr. Shade's new role, he will lead the affairs of the medical staff, including monitoring and ensuring quality of care and acting as an intermediary between medical staff and the hospital. Additionally, Dr. Shade will provide administrative oversight of the off-site, hospital-based physician groups.
Dr. Shade will maintain his position as the department chief of the Sinai-Grace Obstetrics and Gynecology department and will continue to see patients. Dr. Shade is a national faculty member of the Women's Health Research Institute. In 2004, he was named to the Advisory Council for the Michigan Section of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists and appointed by Governor Jennifer Granholm to the State of Michigan Board of Medicine. Dr. Shade attended medical school at Wayne State University, where he completed his residency at Hutzel Hospital. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.
