Main Campus: New VP for development, alumni; President's Report; Life @ Wayne special edition

Ms. Burns appointed VP for development, alumni affairs
President Irvin Reid recently announced that Susan E. Burns will serve as vice president for development and alumni affairs as well as president of the Wayne State University Foundation. The appointment, effective June 1, is subject to the approval of the WSU Board of Governors and the WSU Foundation Board, respectively.

Ms. Burns joined the university in October 2001 as associate vice president for development and has had an important role in strengthening relationships with major donors and creating the necessary infrastructure for the capital campaign. For the past two years, Ms. Burns 's expanded responsibilities included serving as the chief development officer for the university, with oversight for all development officers, and direction of the university's $500 million capital campaign. Ms. Burns has a wealth of experience in fundraising, not only here at Wayne State University, but through her work with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Interlochen Center for the Arts. As an alumna of Wayne State University, she has a special connection to the university, and a dedication to our mission.

Special Life @ Wayne focuses on benefits
