The Liaison Committee on Medical Education has appointed Peter A. Winograd as a public member for a three-year term. He joins Susan Spaulding, of Montpelier , Vt. , in bringing a public perspective to the process of evaluating medical education program quality. Mr. Winograd is professor of law at the University of New Mexico School of Law. He received his doctor of law degree from Harvard Law School and his master of laws degree from the New York University School of Law. He served as a member of the American Bar Association's Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar, the recognized accrediting body for law schools. In that capacity, he has participated in the on-site evaluations of more than 30 law schools. He has been influential in the development of legal education through his participation in many other national organizations, including the Law School Council, the Association of American Law Schools, and the American Law Institute.
