Holiday closure policies announced

During the holiday closure, Dec. 23 through Jan., Scott Hall will only be open to employees and students with an authorized photo identification card. The only way people can enter the building is as follows:

  • Show their University OneCard or DMC Picture I.D. Card.
  • Enter the building as a guest of someone who is also entering the building with their University OneCard or DMC Picture I.D. Card.
  • Call the person they are visiting. The employee/student must physically come down to the guard desk to register their guest.
  • Pre-register special names with Rhonda Green in the Information Office at (313) 577-1460. Preregistration was due Friday, Dec. 15. A list will be placed at the guard desk with the names of these people.

In accordance with Executive Order 01-11, prior approval is required any time liquor is served on campus. This applies to all events, including department Holiday Parties. Allow at least one week for approval.

The last dry ice delivery for Lande, Elliman, and Mott before the closure will be on Friday, Dec. 22. Dry ice will be delivered to Scott Hall during the closure. For Scott Hall, the sign-out book and dry ice key will be at the guard desk. Also, the Scott Hall dry ice chest will be located on the first floor across from the elevators.

The last day for laundry service was Tuesday, Dec. 19. There will be no laundry service during the closure. Normal service will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

There will be no custodial service during the closure.
