C&IT: Home access to Banner, E-Reports

Technology available to access Banner, E-Reports from home
Many employees who use the Banner Systems and E-Reports have indicated the need to access these systems from home. Oftentimes, this can save a trip to campus. Computing & Information Technology is now providing employees (including graduate assistants) with a Virtual Private Network, a secure and simple method for accessing WSU computing resources normally restricted for on-campus use. These resources include the Banner System, E-Reports, and Windows file shares.

You also can relay mail directly through the WSU E-mail System using the Eudora or Microsoft Outlook client mail programs, for example. This alternate way of accessing your WSU e-mail is especially helpful when using a broadband connection from home. Using VPN with a web browser, your computer effectively becomes part of the Wayne State University network regardless of location. Instructions on how to access restricted computing resources are available online at: http://computing.wayne.edu/vpn
