Register now for Neuroscience Day

The College of Liberal Arts and Science, the Office of the Vice President for Research, and the Departments of Biological Sciences and Psychology will host the second annual Neuroscience Day on Feb. 2 for faculty and students of Wayne State University.  This free, day-long event at McGregor Conference Center will be comprised of a keynote speaker, presentations by WSU neuroscience faculty, graduate student talks and posters, a luncheon and refreshments. 

The keynote speaker is Dr. Thomas Carew, professor of Neurobiology and Behavior in the School of Biological Sciences and the Donald Bren Professor and Chair in the Center for Neurobiology of Learning and Memory at the University of California, Irvine.  Dr. Carew's presentation is titled, "How Time Flies: The Molecular Architecture of Memory," and his research focuses on the cellular, molecular and network mechanisms of short- and long-term memory formation in the Aplysia model system.

Registration is mandatory and available online at http://research.wayne.edu/neuro/.  The registration deadline for attending the event is Friday, Jan. 26.
